pigThe prodigal son is a great story and one that we want to tell the whole church. To do that we need pictures and lots of them! Pictures of a pig farmer, pictures of pigs, pictures of a sad dad, pictures of a happy dad, pictures of 2 brothers - one older than the other, pictures of an upset boy, pictures of a boy partying, pictures of a boy eating pig food, picture of a dad watching and waiting, pictures of a boy working in a field, pictures of a dad with his son wearing a robe and a ring.... why not dress up and act some of these things and get mum or dad to take a photo? Or draw or paint a picture from the story, take a photo of your drawing or painting and send in to Rosie Sherwin. Be creative! Thank you!

Why not read the story in Luke chapter 15  v 11 - 32

Thursday 23 April 2020

Scruffy and Mary talk to us about sheep - and The Good Shepherd

Sorry, your browser is unable to play this type of file. You can still download it

Why not make some toilet roll sheep? You will need:

empty cardboard tubes
black pipe cleaners
cotton wool
glue
black card
scissors
googly eyes

Take a short cardboard tube (a toilet roll length - cut kitchen roll ones in half) and push the point of scissors through to make four holes - two near each end and just a few centimetres apart but all underneath.  Now push one pipe cleaner into the first hole and back out through the hole close to it - you’ll have created two legs sticking our underneath.  Do the same with the holes at the other end - now you’ll have four legs.
Stick cotton wool all over the cardboard tube.  Set aside to dry off a bit.  Cut a head shape out of black card - you could give it sticky-out ears like Shaun the Sheep or Timmy.  Stick googly eyes on.  You can add any other details with a pencil.  Stick the head onto one end of the cardboard tube. And there you have it - a sheep!

Join Coach Culf from Get Sported and build a LEGO Run which anyone can do at home using just a few cardboard tubes, sellotape and some LEGO...

and check out WSM and Grant Sheppard's Lockdown Sports too!

Monday 30 March 2020

We hope your pictures or model are coming along well (see Wednesday 25 March) - I am looking forward to seeing some photos!

Yesterday in Church at Home, Jonathan talked about The Wise and Foolish Man building houses.... I know some of you looked at this parable in Life Kids not very long ago - but it is worth thinking about again.

Why not watch this video? There is also a colouring page you can download here and a wordsearch that you can download here. Have a great day!

Wednesday 25 March 2020

Lego pictureWe need you to do something for us... get out your crayons or your paints, save your boxes or grab your lego... we want you to read the Easter Story and then paint or draw a picture, any picture, of the Easter story, or make a model out of junk or out of lego that is a part of the Easter story. It can be any part... in the garden when Jesus is praying, on the cross or on the way to being crucified, or Easter Day when Jesus rose from the dead. Any part at all - your choice! We just want you to be creative.... It doesn't matter how young or how old you are, it doesn't matter if you think you are good at making things or don't think you are very good (but we think you are all amazing and all your art and creativity is great).

Then, when you have done that, please take a photo of your creation, or ask Mum or Dad to do this, and then send the photo by email to Rosie Sherwin - your Mum or Dad should have the email address but if not click here and ask Rosie to email you. it would be great if you could be in the photo with your creation - holding your picture or standing with your model - but no worries if you don't want to be. That's fine too. We need this by Friday 3 April please. We will put the pictures up on the website - and we will use them as part of Easter Sunday Church at Home online gathering.

Read the story in your bible or watch a video online. Here's one online video done out of Lego - it tells you the story and might inspire you if you want to use building bricks to show part of the story!

Monday 23 March 2020

I hope Mother's Day yesterday was a good day and that you managed to make your mum feel special. We all like feeling special don't we so it's good to make others feel special too!

Check out this worship song 'You are good' sung by Bethel Music Kids which we sing in the auditorium, sometimes in Rockets and perhaps in Sparklers and Little Springs too. It's a great song for everyone to worship God with!

Perhaps you can sing along too and praise God from home? The words are below. And if you want to, you can follow this link to learn the actions!

Words for You are Good

I want to scream it out from every mountaintop
Your goodness knows no bounds, Your goodness never stops
Your mercy follows me, Your kindness fills my life, Your love amazes me!

Chorus
And I sing because You are good, And I dance because You are good
And I shout because You are good, You are good to me

Nothing and no one comes anywhere close to You
The earth and oceans deep only reflect this truth
And in my darkest night You shine as bright as day, Your love amazes me!

Chorus (as above)

With a cry of praise, my heart will proclaim You are good, You are good
In the sun or rain, my life celebrates You are good, You are good!

Chorus (as above)
